Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 July 2026
YaFandem (“the Platform”) connects individuals with home-service professionals in Greater Cairo. By using the Platform you accept these terms.
1. Who operates the Platform
The Platform is operated by YaFandem.
Contact: ya.fandem.eg@gmail.com
Hosting: Europe.
Pilot phase: the Platform currently operates in three Greater Cairo districts (Tagamoa / New Cairo, Sheikh Zayed & 6 October, Maadi).
2. Role of the Platform
YaFandem is a technical intermediary. We are neither the employer, the agent, nor the subcontractor of the professionals listed.
The service contract is formed directly between client and professional. The Platform performs no work and does not guarantee the outcome of any job.
Professionals are independent workers, responsible for their tax, social and regulatory status, and for any licences or insurance their trade requires.
3. Your account
Registration requires a valid email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity on your account.
Registering as a professional additionally requires a profile photo, a full name, and at least one published service.
You must be 18 or older and provide accurate information. Accounts with false information may be suspended without notice.
4. Identity verification (KYC)
A professional may request identity verification by submitting an ID document and a face photo. These are held in private storage and are viewable only by our moderation team through temporary links.
5. Rules of use
Conversations take place in the in-app messaging. Until a booking is confirmed, personal contact details (phone numbers, emails, external messaging links) are automatically masked in messages. This protects both parties and preserves an audit trail in case of dispute.
You must not: circumvent the Platform to escape its rules, post unlawful, misleading, hateful or pornographic content, impersonate others, post fake reviews, or harvest other users' data.
Any user can report a message, profile or listing. We may suspend an account, deactivate a listing or remove content in case of breach.
6. Bookings, prices and payment
Prices are set freely by professionals and shown before booking. A booking is a mutual commitment on the date, the service and the stated price.
Current state: the Platform collects no money. Payment happens directly between client and professional, on the terms they agree.
When online payment is enabled, a commission will apply to services paid through the Platform. The applicable terms will be communicated and accepted beforehand.
Cancellation: a client may cancel before the job starts; a professional may decline a request. Repeated cancellations may lead to suspension.
7. Reviews and ratings
Only users who have completed a job together can rate each other. Reviews express their authors' opinions, not the Platform's.
We do not remove negative reviews at the request of the person reviewed. We do remove abusive, defamatory, off-topic or clearly fraudulent reviews.
8. Liability
The Platform is provided “as is”. We take reasonable measures to keep it available and secure, without guaranteeing uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We are not liable for damage, delays, defects, theft or loss occurring during a job, which is performed under the professional's sole responsibility.
Each party remains responsible for complying with applicable Egyptian law.
9. Intellectual property
The YaFandem — يافندم brand, logo, visual identity and Platform code are protected. Reproduction without permission is prohibited.
You keep the rights to content you publish (photos, descriptions, reviews) and grant us a free, non-exclusive licence to display it on the Platform, including machine-translated.
10. Termination
You may request deletion of your account at any time by writing to ya.fandem.eg@gmail.com.
We may suspend or close an account for serious or repeated breaches, subject to legal retention obligations.
11. Changes and governing law
We may amend these terms. Active users will be informed of substantial changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by Egyptian law. Failing amicable resolution, the competent courts are those of Cairo.
