A run of cafés, small shops and restaurants over a few hundred metres, in the shade of the district's trees. The opposite of Downtown: you sit for a long time, without horns, and the neighbourhood walks past the tables.

Maadi is reachable by metro (Maadi station) from the centre, which saves an hour of traffic.
