Giza
The plateau, the Grand Egyptian Museum, and a second day of pyramids at Saqqara and Dahshur.
Since the Grand Egyptian Museum opened in November 2025, the plateau and the museum fill a day on their own: the pyramids at opening, the museum in the afternoon, both tickets booked online — on-site sales have ended for the GEM. The other pyramids lie south, and they are a second day: Saqqara needs three hours, Dahshur is on the same road, and Memphis, between the two, is a thirty-minute stop and nothing more. At the camel market in Birqash the real business is done before nine in the morning, best on a Friday, and the way the animals are handled there does not suit everyone — if it will upset you, do not go. The zoological garden is closed for works; do not make the drive for it.
