Two floors of trampolines inside a mall: it bounces, and it echoes.
BOUNCE fills a large covered volume in Cairo Festival City Mall, two floors carpeted end to end with linked trampolines: the floor bounces, the walls bounce, and you cross from square to square without once touching the ground. Around them are pits of foam cubes, a ninja course and parkour blocks, for those no longer content just to rebound. Children are admitted from three, with areas kept for the under-110 cm, and under-twelves must be with an adult. The house's grip socks are compulsory: you do not jump in your own. The rest is noise — music, a hundred children, and a closed room.
The extra bit
Book your slot online, and aim for the middle of a weekday afternoon: in the evening and at the weekend the floor is full, and a teenager landing beside a four-year-old is the whole problem with these places. At the counter, have them tell you the exact length of the slot and what the ticket covers — the socks are usually a separate purchase, and they serve again next visit if you keep them.
Know before you go
Noise is the real price of entry: loud music, echo, and no quiet corner to recover in. On Fridays, in the school holidays and at Eid, slots go early and the floor is packed. A reservation to know before making the drive: the operator's own site could not be reached when we checked, and the only opening hours we could read — 10am to 1am — are those of the mall's entertainment cluster, not BOUNCE's. Call the mall before setting out. Festival City is also vast: allow for the parking, then the walk across it with impatient children.
