The Brasserie Lake View
A brasserie by the water, inside a private club: check they will let you in first.
The address is that of Lake House The Club, on Teseen, New Cairo's central artery. The name promises a view over the club's lake, and the rest follows from that: this is the new town's top end. The difficulty isn't the table, it's the door — a private club vets its guests, and nothing says a passing visitor walks in the way they would into an ordinary restaurant. One phone call before you get in the car settles it.
The extra bit
Ring and ask in this order: access for non-members, then booking, then dress code. If the first answer is no, the other two are moot. Ask at the same time where to park and which gate to give your driver: nobody arrives here on foot.
Know before you go
Prices sit in the highest bracket: know that before you sit down. The club's rules — who gets in, with whom, and on what booking — are things to ask on the phone, not to assume. Teseen is east of Cairo: the drive belongs in your choice of hour, and you'll need a car both ways.
