A 300-metre-long seamount, one of Egypt's best-known dive sites.

An isolated offshore reef with two plateaus and walls dropping into the blue. Oceanic whitetips and hammerheads pass through depending on the season, in currents that make it a site for experienced divers.

The extra bit

Oceanic whitetip season is autumn: that is when the site makes full sense.

Know before you go

An exposed site with strong currents, trips cancelled in rough weather: this is not a first dive.
