Kebdet El Prince
The king of Alexandrian-style liver, served on pavement tables until the middle of the night.
€ BudgetOur favourite
A popular institution in Imbaba: liver fried with chilli and lemon, sausages, brain, served in scorching pans with baladi bread. You eat elbow to elbow in the street, amid the noise and the motorbikes, and that is exactly what makes the place.
The extra bit
Order one pan of liver and one of sausages for two, with bread and lemon: that is the local order.
Know before you go
Cash only. The district is working-class and the place opens late — one of the few 2 am dinners in Cairo.
