A short supply chain has appeared in Cairo: buffalo cheeses, honey, dates, soaps, seasonal vegetables, sold by the growers themselves at markets rotating between districts at the weekend. It is new, urban, and did not exist ten years ago.

Fresh buffalo cheese and clover honey are what supermarkets do not have.
