Sinai · Between Dahab and Nuweiba, South Sinai

Ras Abu Galum

A reserve reached by camel, where the mountain drops straight into the reef.

€€ Mid-rangeOff the beaten track

North of the Blue Hole, the track stops and the reserve begins: an hour by camel or boat along the coast, to Bedouin camps set between cliff and water. The snorkelling is among Sinai's finest, and you can sleep there under a palm shelter.

The extra bit

Stay the night: with no light and no engines, the reserve's sky is its best argument.

Know before you go

No signal, no electricity, dry toilets: bring water and cash, and leave the site clean.
