The city has started looking at its roofs — and putting bars on them.

For a long time Cairo's roofs were nothing but a store for aerials and water tanks. For a few years now, hotels and older buildings have opened terraces up there: the city looks at itself from above, the Nile appears between the blocks, and the noise stays below. The best thing to happen to Cairo nightlife in a while.
