A neighbourhood bookshop with a few tables, where you stay longer than planned.

Shelves in Arabic, English and French, a children's corner, and a café at the back where people work in the afternoon. One of the few places in Zamalek where you can sit without spending much and read without being hurried.
The extra bit
The Egyptian fiction-in-translation shelf makes the best present to take home: lighter than a souvenir and longer-lasting.
Know before you go
Closes earlier than neighbouring cafés, and the room is small: avoid weekday mid-afternoon if you want a free table.
