In Dakhla you eat what the oasis produces: wheat, dates, olives, chicken, and stews served with flatbread baked in an earth oven. A few Al-Qasr guesthouses open their table to passing visitors.

The extra bit

Try fresh dates in September and October: it is harvest time, and they do not travel.
