A hot spring in the middle of the dunes, and a salt lake a few hundred metres away.

Some fifteen kilometres from Siwa, a pool of hot sulphurous water rises at the foot of a dune, answered a little further on by an icy salt lake. The contrast between the two at sunset is the image everyone brings back from Siwa.
The extra bit
Bathe at sunset, when the air cools: the only time hot water is pleasant.

The site is only reachable by 4×4 with a Siwa driver, as part of an excursion.
