El Gouna's marina lines up cafés, ice cream shops and bars along the pontoons, in a resort designed in one go. It is clean, expensive and comfortable — the exact opposite of a Downtown ahwa, and that is the point.

Know before you go
El Gouna is some twenty kilometres from Hurghada: budget the taxi or shuttle into the evening.
