Hurghada Marina

The harbour promenade: yachts on one side, terraces on the other, and the whole town out after dark.

This is Hurghada's meeting point, and the one place where the town walks. A horseshoe quay, excursion boats moored side by side, and an unbroken line of restaurants, bars and cafés whose terraces face the water. People come to eat, to have a drink after the beach, or just to walk at sunset — and most boat trips leave from here.

The extra bit

Come an hour before sunset: the light on the masts is the best moment of the day, and the terraces are not full yet.

Know before you go

The marina is pedestrian and touts are many: a firm "just looking" is enough and nobody insists for long. Quayside terraces cost more than the rest of town — that is what the view is worth.
