The cafés of the Old Market

Sharm's old quarter: bazaars, ahwas and grills, far from the Naama Bay hotels.

Budget

The Old Market is the part of Sharm that looks like an Egyptian town: shop streets, shisha cafés, fish restaurants by weight. Prices are the country's rather than the resort's, and the evening mood is markedly more local.

The extra bit

Eat fish by weight here rather than in Naama Bay: same sea, half the price.

Know before you go

Cash, and bargaining is the rule in the shops as everywhere else in Egypt.
