Multicoloured slides above a pool, under the palms

Hurghada · Makadi Bay, south of Hurghada

Makadi Water World

The biggest water park on the coast, with food and drinks included in the ticket.

€€€ High endOur favourite

Fifty slides and a few wave pools, in Makadi Bay some thirty kilometres south of Hurghada. The day ticket includes meals and drinks, which makes it expensive at the gate but complete afterwards — unlike parks where you pay for every bottle.

The extra bit

Get there at opening: the big slides run queue-free for the first hour, and it is also the coolest time on the metal stairs.

Know before you go

Budget the transfer from Hurghada into the day: at thirty kilometres, the return taxi is not a detail. The ground burns at midday — pool sandals save the day.
