The boats come in at dawn and unload in front of the auction halls: grouper, squid, prawns, reef fish. You buy by weight, and several nearby joints will cook your fish for a few pounds — Hurghada's best lunch, if you get up early.

Between 7 and 9 am: after that only the unsold remains, and prices do not drop for it.
