The cafés of Luxor souk

Ahwas between the stalls, where the traders themselves go for tea.

Budget

In the souk's lanes, behind the main street, a few cafés serve tea and shisha to local customers. The best place to catch your breath between two negotiations, and to see the souk from the traders' side.

The extra bit

Step away from the main street: two lanes further in, prices go back to local ones.

Know before you go

Cash. The souk comes alive in late afternoon, when the heat drops and the cruise boats unload.
